Riley is home!!!!2
after several hours of shopping we found memory foam beds, water proof bed covers and a really soft comfy blanket. The soft blanket is to help him regulate his temperature post operative. We bought 2 memory foam beds – one for his crate and one for the living room. When we got to the office the ladies brought him around the corner and let him down to walk to us. He was wagging his tail and came straight to us. They were impressed by the way he has already learning to have his back leg in the middle to balance himself. Once home he wanted to eat so we are introducing his food slowly so that he doesn’t get sick. He wants his chewy toys lol. I think that we are going to do just fine with our tripawd. Just have to think a little more cautiously about him walking.
He had a dose of pain meds and antibiotics this morning so we start meds tomorrow.
So thankful to our wonderful vet and his staff for taking good care of our baby and the comments before we came home.
Aww Riley we are so glad to hear things went well! We hope you’re feeling all better and that the new year is filled with lots of fun adventures on three legs.
More photos!
Oh my goodness, I don’t know how I’ve missed your previous blogs, but I have! Just went back and caught up!
Riley is home and doing great! YAAAAAY! Now, as you’ve seen, recovery can be a little rought for a week ot two. Keeping his pain managed is crucial. As you’ve probably already seen on the site, it is important to keep “ahead of the pain” and not medicate AFTER the pain has gotten a head start .
Riley is a cutie pie! Clearly he is a very loved pup and lucky to have you as his partner. You’re a good advocate for sweet Riley!
Please keep us posted and let us know how we can support you. We’re here!! Would love to see more pictures too!
HUGS TO ALL!!
