frustration and Riley isn’t even home2
You would think that bringing home a tripawd is no big deal but there is so much to do before getting him home. Finding a bed that will not cause sores should be easy (and it is if you buy online but the shipping dates are a week away) but we only have hours before picking him up. We are having to think outside the box- baby bed pads that control if he pees, memory foam pillows. all of this instead of waiting for a real bed and pad to come in the mail. we will order his new harness online and wait for that and we will try to buy him a raised bowl locally. Holy cow…we only have an hour and a half before we get him!!!!!!!!!!11
We used egg crate foam folded in half with some sweatshirt fabric for a cover. It gave Murphy a softer place, but still had the firmness from the floor under it. Cheap, too! You could probably use one of the waterproof mattress covers over the foam. Good luck.

oooooo.. you should have him by now!!! And don’t focus on the fact that he is missing a limb.. focus on he fact that he is just so gosh dawg happy to see you!!!!
I never did the beds as my dogs alredy had big comfy dog beds.. but I did raise up the bowls for food and water so that my guy didn’t have to strain down to reach them. He was a front amputee.
Once you figure out the pain management, etc… recovery should be easy. Sometimes we pawrents get really frustrated when we think they aren’t getting enough pain meds, or if they are getting too much.. don’t be afraid to ask the vet questions.. and call them if you have to. That is what they are there for!
Hopefully, we can give you some cyber, online support and suggestions.. even though we are not vets.. we have been there.. and we are always willing to lend an ear or two so that you can vent, scream, cry and brag!!!!
